Many years ago, I accompanied a friend (an actual artist) to paint landscapes in Berkeley's Tilden Park. My goal was to make my paintings as different from each other as possible. Easier said than done, it turns out.
Some time later, I decided I would make a self-portrait to accompany each landscape. Landscape and Portrait!
I told many people about this idea, but I only got started in December 2017. I worked on it off and on until February 2020, when I decided to stop after completing the twelfth diptych.
